At roots and wings, our motto is “helping families be families”. We believe in the value of families. We honor the efforts of families to grow and support each other in adverse and difficult times and in times of victory. We offer families, non-judgmental, unconditional love and support. We seek to identify and leverage a family’s strength and empower them to be the prime solution to their challenges. We avoid shame and blame and try to meet families where they are. We cheer. We stand alongside families. Most of all, we believe in them and believe nothing will strengthen our community more than work that strengthens our families.

We assist families that are multi-system involved have children at-risk for being placed out of the home, or children presently in foster care. We help families locate the resources available in the county that will strengthen the family. We meet families where they are comfortable. That may be in our office or may require a home visit. We also attend Child & Family Team meetings with the family in an effort to help with understanding and go into school systems to advocate for families along with providing support to overwhelmed families in crisis.
The families we stand alongside have a support system in roots and wings. While in meetings at the school, families feel they have someone who can interpret what they lack in understanding. Families benefit through our resources in the community. Families benefit through our unconditional support and acknowledgement of their family problems. Families benefit through better outcomes with their children.
